The way of St. James and the new meditation way
The routes of the Way of St James:
There are basically three Ways of St James that pass through the Tyrol, ultimately heading westward. Of course, the pilgrims did not always follow these routes. Nowadays, many modern pilgrims also turn down a by-road or take detours of varying lengths. Signposted as the Ways of St James are those paths where buildings, patronal cults, documents, etc. indicate a lively flow of pilgrims over the centuries. Over time, the routes have had to adapt to political (e.g. war) and geographical events (floods, rockfalls etc.).
In the PillerseeTal the way pass through Waidring, St. Ulrich, St. Jakob and Fieberbrunn. Take a walk on the spiritual paths and experience the traditon of the pilgrims. The church of pilgimage St. Adolari, the Way of the Cross at the Pillersee or the church in St. Jakob are just some of the characteristics of the Way of St James in our region.
Cyclists:
The Ways of St James in the PillerseeTal are fully passable by bicycle and it is possible at all times to use the cycleways or alternative tracks.

The MUSSEL
The mussel is the symbol of the pilgrims and was used as a spoon or drinking vessel. Many mussels rescue a treasure in themselves, a pearl. Nevertheless, a pearl arises, when the animal has surrounded a foreign body successfully. In every biography there are difficulties which a person has to master and endure. In retrospect just these difficult situations are especially valuable in our life time.Is there also a treasure in me? (talents, trust, imagination, love, vitality,...)
The STICK
The stick gives prop and hold, shows the way, can serve in the defence and helps over obstacles.Where do I find hold and support in my life? (faith, family, friends,...)
To whom should I be a strong stick?
HAT
Hat off to human beings, their achievments, their honour, their model. On the pilgrim's way of our life we fill the bottle of the everyday life with water, for the holiday with wine.
However, how do we refill energy for our life? With friends, family, occupation, nature, faith and hobby!
Do I be careful with the resources of our nature, with the people around myself?
Positive experiences, the dialog with myself and the discussion with the scenery and the nature - all this should support the new meditation way in St. Jakob i. H.!
