Winter hiking in St. Jakob in Haus
center - skilift station of Bergbahn Pillersee
walking time: about 30 min.
Starting from the parking area in front of the tourist office you turn left and walk to the guest-house "Elisabeth". Behind there you turn right and walk to the building of the recycling yard. There you turn left, cross the "Reith" hamlet and walk along the "Hotel Alpenhof Kitzspitz" towards the ski lift station "Buchensteinwand/Pillersee". There you have connections to St. Ulrich and Hochfilzen.
center - Mühlau - Hochegg - Fieberbrunn
walking time: about 1 hour
In extension to route 1, starting from the building of the recycling yard you turn right and walk along the sports facilities next to the cross-country track to "Mühlau" hamlet. At the fork "Mühlau" ("Hörlhof") you can walk on the left side along a beautiful forest path and with a mavellous view of the surrounding mountains via "Hochegg" - "Kühle Klause" back to Fieberbrunn.
center - Mühlau - Moosbach - Filzen - Dorf
walking time: 1,5 hours
In extension to route 2, starting from "Mühlau" ("Hörlhof") you walk straight along a hollow alley way ("Gengsteig") to "Moosbach" hamlet. Afterwards you cross the public road "Pillersee" at the sawmill and after about 100m you walk on the left side along a little ascending road towards "Filzen" hamlet. There, at "Sahatenhof" farm you walk straight on to the wayside shrine of Holy Jacob, then turn left and walk along the panoramic path back to the centre of St. Jacob.
center - Mühlau - Gerstberg
walking time: 1 hour
Take the same way as to the refreshment station Eiblberg. Approx. 200 metres before the R.S. Eiblberg turn left and follow the sign to the refreshment station Gerstberg. After a walking time of 20 min. you will reach the 700 years old farmhouse. Have a break and enjoy the marvellous view of the mountains while having true Tyrolean Country Cooking meals in the "Rauchkuchl" (smoking kitchen) or on the roofed sun terrace. Take the same way back to teh village centre.
center - Mühlau - Filzen - Torfmoos - Fieberbrunn
walking time: about 45 min.
In extenstion to route 3, starting from "Filzen" hamlet ("Sahatenhof" farm) you can either walk on the left side along "Torfmoos" hamlet to the station of Fieberbrunn or always straight ahead towards "Obwall" up to the restaurant "Hochreit" or "Obermair" at Fieberbrunn.
